Change.org
The Problem
Change.org empowers anyone, anywhere, to create the change they want to see. On Change.org, people from distinct locations are starting campaigns, mobilizing supporters, and working with decision makers to drive solutions.
Challenge
Change.org provides an excellent platform for individuals to file a petition and involve people from diverse culture and locations to join the cause. However, it lacks the collaborative aspect which can allow a group of people to create a petition and work upon it simultaneously. With our academic project, we decided to incorporate this collaborative feature in the existing interface where people can pull up information from different sources and efficiently contribute towards advocating a cause.
Objective
Integrating a collaborative feature in the existing interface will further enrich the content of the petition, improve the quality, connect more people to the cause and reduce the duration required to get signatures thus creating a much stronger impact.

Design Approach
Our design approach was to integrate an additional component in the interface without disturbing the flow of Change.org and to minimize barriers in between the design process.

User Research & Interviews
Change.org has several users over the world, and so we decided to identify the existing issues faced by users while accessing interface and their thoughts on the Collaborative editing aspect. We conducted contextual interviews with ten users to determine the opportunities and limitations of the product. We collected users feedback posted on various social media sites and organized the data to reflect the user goal best.

Concept Sketch
Existing Scenario
The user creates a petition to advocate a cause or to bring a change in the current system.
Redefined Scenario
The user creates a petition to advocate a cause and invites other potential members to join him in the process to create rich content and resources like media observed in different locations. Thus creating a stronger impact on Decision makers, receiving cohesive support or signatures from distinct locations, spreading awareness, reducing the overall duration for the process and fighting for a more substantial mass of people

Use Case Scenario
User Flow for creating a Petition
The user creating a petition can add potential members while creating a draft. Collaborators may add the content which will be reviewed by admin before the petition is made public. Collaborators cab either contribute by providing media relevant to the cause or related articles for composing the draft. Alternatively, collaborators can add other potential members for more rich and diverse content.
Petition Creator

User Flow for collaborating on a Petition
Users can work on the concerned issue if they possess any relevant information or resources that could bring an impact on the overall system. Content once submitted will be reviewed by admin or the petition creator before it is made accessible to the public. This will enhance the overall quality of the petition with little space for ambiguity and liberal and diverse content for the people.

Wireframes
I created wireframes to redesign few screens and establish the collaborative aspect of the current user flow. I found Autodesk sketchbook to be of profound use while developing wireframes as it gave me enough space to iterate the screens.
